DOWNSVIEW MASTERPLAN

This project reimagines Downsview as a vibrant, interconnected urban district by integrating midrise density with expansive green spaces. The design strategy begins with a bold move—elevating and extending one of the site’s existing runways to unify the fragmented urban fabric. This transformation establishes a structured midrise grid, dividing the site into seven interconnected courtyards, each defined by distinct landscape identities and public amenities.
This proposal transforms Downsview into a high-density yet na-ture-driven community, where urbanism and open space coexist in harmony.
